As a result of interactions with customers, millions of events are continuously being generated in ING Group’s IT systems. Each transaction, withdrawal of money from an ATM or change to the settings on the bank’s website are events which must be correctly handled and propagated in the bank’s systems. At the same time, they need to be analysed and provide conclusions for the business.
In order to use these opportunities to their fullest, ING has committed to build a system based on a technologically innovative platform which will fulfil even the most rigorous requirements for a modern stream processing system.

To achieve this goal, Apache Flink was selected. It became the base for a global framework whose aim was to unify local implementations within ING Group. BlueSoft’s skills in this field supported ING Bank Śląski in using the platform’s potential.
A full-HA cluster was created, guaranteeing the system to be independent of any element’s failure. The best security practices were used, fulfilling the high requirements set for the bank in relation to protecting its customers’ data.
High scalability of the solution enables handling new business cases which demand much higher capacity.
A sample implementation of a reference framework was implemented in ING Bank Śląski. The system has greatly improved reliability, security and speed of data processing. The use of cutting-edge technology makes it possible for the bank to analyse and react to all customer-related events immediately, within milliseconds.
