New initiatives within VWFS required newly scalable, highly available RESTful services.
The bank chose MuleSoft to be the target technology for the facade of the Salesforce system. The project’s holistic approach was not limited only to deliver Mule-based applications, but also set up ESB & API Gateway Platform on AWS cloud, with a well-designed automated deployment pipeline.
On top of that, the key requirement was to provide expertise in Enterprise Integration Architecture and MultiVendor delivery processes definition.
Thanks to that, the services were designed and delivered with best-practice SOA governance, standardization, and good, repetitive development quality. Ideally, all those services should be able to be provided by multiple vendors in the future.
Solution
The bank, together with BlueSoft, created complex MuleSoft technology and an SOA Governance & Processes advisory partnership.
Starting with MuleSoft Development Cookbook and MultiVendor Processes Vision preparation adjusted to VWFS internal processes and organizational culture.
The next step was to provide a highly-available ESB & API Gateway platform on AWS Cloud for several environments. Based on the working ecosystem BlueSoft delivered first services, APIs, and templates as a role model for service implementation.
BlueSoft expertise in MuleSoft and Integration Patterns was a key factor in delivering Mule applications, Platform and Governance Documents, and integration knowledge transfer.

Results
Within just three months, VWFS had the entire MuleSoft ecosystem working on multiple environments, with several running ESB services and API Gateway endpoints delivered by BlueSoft.
Newly introduced MuleSoft technology became easy to manage by the VWFS team due to dozens of hours of training and knowledge sharing sessions with BlueSoft experts.
Best-practices defined by BlueSoft in the Development Cookbook were a key factor in delivering quality services by third parties that are now joining the ESB & API Gateway initiative, revealing a well-designed Multivendor model.
