Challenge

Increasing costs of business processes as well as technological debt in the form of repetitive manual steps caused the Bank’s interest in robotization.

Taking into consideration the complexity of this issue and risks that may result from potentially unskilfully conducted automation, Volkswagen Financial Services was looking for a partner who will not only help them deliver first robots in UiPath technology, but also act as trusted advisor for the whole initiative at all organizational levels: building business-case, selecting appropriate processes to be automated, delivery of particular robots and their governance. 

Solution

BlueSoft has committed itself to co-create with Bank, a new program aiming at creating the Automation Competence Excellence Center in the Volkswagen Financial Services.

For the initiative to be managed and its effects measured, we began with creating rules for building robots and selecting processes to be automated in the form of the RPA Governance Model and RPA Developers Cook Book.

Additionally, we have planned a series of workshops and training, aiming at knowledge transfer and developing necessary UiPath development skills within the Bank’s team.

Results:

Within a few months, BlueSoft and VWFS together created a team that can constantly deliver Business requirements around automation.

The robots delivered to the Company enabled business process optimization four times more than expected at the beginning of the initiative.

With our help, Volkswagen Financial Services started creating its proper competences among its employees. Our robots enable Bank’s customers to receive instant bank transfers ten times faster with accelerating accounting processes.

Short time to market, as well as the reliability of the robots, proved the business case of the RPA initiative in the Bank. Moreover, it became an indispensable part of the continuous improvement of VWFS business processes.
